Jake Ryks is a Firefighter / EMT / HazMat Specalist working for the Saint Paul Fire Department in Saint Paul, MN. Jake is a contributing member of the Minnesota State HazMat Response team. Jake also works as the Training Manager and Lead Instructor for Bay West LLC, a nationwide environmental services and hazardous materials clean-up contractor based in Saint Paul. His experiance as both a first responder and a clean-up contractor brings a well-rounded approach to HazMat. His passion for learning and teaching is evident in the tone of his courses. Over his career, he has worked for paid-on-call, part-time and full-time fire departments and taught firefighting and HazMat for multiple state colleges, fire departments, in various industries and on behalf of the State of Minnesota. He holds multiple HazMat specalist designations, along with a multitude of technical rescue and fire service certifications.
