Technology! Today we have an entire suite of detection and identification tools from colorimetric papers to gc/ms, and everything in between. But how do we put them all together in the field to get our answers? How do we reconcile when we get conflicting answers? In this presentation we will work our way through the matrix of tools available, leveraging their strengths and weaknesses to come to a solution. We will use several case studies to work through the information to identify what we are dealing with. There is no perfect tool with all of the answers, but using what we have we can get there.
Learning Objectives:
The participant will get a better understanding of FTIR, RAMAN, HPMS, and GC/MS to interpret the results for the foundation of a risk-based response.
The participant will analyze provided sample results from several cases studies to identify the hazards of concern.
The participant will able to evaluate results from multiple technologies to identify unknown with a high level of confidence.
