Using incident case histories as exemplars this session will increase awareness of hazardous materials dangers in the wildland-urban interface. Too often hazardous materials involved with wildfires aren't given the attention they deserve and their effects not given the emphasis they need.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will learn about the wildland-urban interface
Particpants will observe and understand the types of hazards and risks that are related to hazardous materials in an environment that is less controlled than in urban areas
particioants will have a better understanding of planning for these incidents in areas where there may be few response resources.
