This updated workshop includes new and updated information and tactics on risk-based response to battery emergencies. Participants will learn HazMat response considerations for battery incidents including battery family recognition and identification, air monitoring considerations, battery overpacking, and options for indoor EV fires.

Learning Objectives:

  • Given a photo of a real or simulated battery emergency, the participant will verbalize the battery family and the associated hazards.
  • Given a photo of a real or simulated battery emergency, the participant will be able to articulate expected air monitoring readings.
  • Given a scenario involving an indoor EV fire, the participant will verbalize tactical response options available.
