International Bilingual Hazmat Instructor

Currently at ARTC AMBIPAR Pueblo CO as a Bilingual Hazmat Instructor. I worked as a Project Manager as a contractor for thr U.S. Department of State and the National Civil Defense in Saudi Arabia. My task was to provide best international practices to the national Civil Defense Fire & Rescue administration and operations. Worked as a CBRN Technician for the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) Unit Washington Metro Transportation Authority. My role in the Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) CBRN Unit was the preparedness and response to potential CBRN terrorism incidents. I retired after 28 years as the Hazmat/Paramedic for Fairfax County, VA Hazardous Materials Response Unit. I have 20 years of experience in the FEMA USAR/VATF-1 with domestic deployments as a paramedic/hazmat and communications specialist. I was deployed in 2006 for the first AST (Americas Support Team) deployment to Peru for the United Nations in the aftermath of an earthquake as a United Nations Disaster Assistance and Coordination (UNDAC) manager. I was deployed for a month as a hazardous materials/communications and rescue advisor/consultant for the country of El Salvador in their national public safety response planning and improvement for the UNDAC team.Traveled to Ushuaia per Argentina UN representatives for a USAR Type III team in hazmat/rescue and logistics management training.
Assisted the Puerto Rico National Fire Department, municipalities, and private companies in their fire/rescue/hazmat training as part of the Specialty Training Group. In October 2009 assisted in the ICS/Emergency Operations on one of the major refinery fires in Puerto Rico's history, Caribbean Petroleum Refining. I was a CTOS radiation contract instructor involved in the first responder and community training throughout the United States for 10 years.
