Presented by a member of the FBI's Technical Hazards Response Unit, a primary author of the Training Chapter in NFPA475, this presentation will discuss hazmat training topics to include curriculum development, assessment vs. evaluation of skills and competencies, the application of andragogy (adult learning) concepts during hazmat training, self-learning resources, OSHA vs. NFPA hazmat competency requirements, and will cover all recommendations outlined in the Training Chapter of NFPA475 for the development and management of a Hazmat Training Program.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the session, the learner will be able to discuss the key components of curriculum development as they relate to hazardous materials training.
Upon completion of the session, the learner will be able to compare the requirements for competency in hazardous materials response between OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and NFPA 470
