Odor Investigations- Something Smells- What is It?

An odor of something can be the initial trigger of a person calling 9-1-1. This program will cover odor science, terminology, sources/conditions, concept of smell, reference resources, and investigation techniques.

Learning Objectives:

  • The participant will be able to identify common sources and conditions of odor investigation calls.
  • The participant will be able to describe the science and behavior, concept of smell, and the classification or categorization of odors.
  • The participant will be able to identify investigation techniques, detection/monitoring, and reference resources to identify or classify the odor.
