Things that go BOOM! BHO and other Extraction Labs

With the growing availability of marijuana, the prevalence of hash oil labs is on the rise. In this presentation we will look at some of the different methods of extraction and the hazards associated with them. With multiple ways to extract it, one the more common, and more hazardous methods is the butane extraction method, from the simple “blasting” method to complex closed loop systems we will exam the processes, components, and develop monitoring and hazard mitigation strategies to handle these events. Others include alcohol, propane, hexane, CO2, and the list goes on. Knowing your equipment and the hazards present becomes critical in managing both illicit and legal operations.
