Participate in an interactive case study of several high-profile, multi-agency/multi-jurisdictional response, HazMat/CBRNE incidents, to include: the Austin serial bombings, radioactive material in a home, several unstable cylinders of Hydrocyanic Acid in a decommissioned grain silo in the middle of a small town and a large Mercury spill in a residence in a neighborhood. The discussion will cover the initial responses, thought processes, prolonged and adjusted actions, incident outcomes, and the impact of a successful regional training and exercise program during these incidents. Additionally, aspects of impact to responders, equipment and programs during and after these incidents will be examined.
