User vs Operator will discuss metering technology for the end user to make informed decisions based on a deeper understanding of their meters. Using the FDNY's meter arsenal as a base, different meters and configurations based on their technologies will be discussed, specifically highlighting their strengths and weaknesses in various environments and circumstances. By helping the technician understand how their meter interacts with their environment, they will better understand what their meter is actually telling them.
Learning Objectives:
To thoroughly explain various metering technologies, so the end user has a deeper understanding of their meter's capabilities.
To be able to properly select the best metering technology for the mission at hand, prioritizing personnel safety, and user effectiveness.
To understand limitations of metering technologies, but also learn to use meters to best of the technology's potential.
