You have just been promoted and they have given you the hazmat program to run, you have never run a full function program before nor have they trained you for it. This session will touch on most of the facets of running/ managing a hazmat program. we will discuss concepts from the NFPA 475 guidance document and mix in some real life examples of lessons learned from the instructor's and the group's experience. There will be open forum discussion on topics from training to R & D to purchasing to incident management. This will be a full contact session with audience input so that all may learn from each other.
Learning Objectives:
The participant will recognize 5 components of program management from a multiple choice list.
The participant will analyze an example of a hazmat program and identify the core components needed to manage the program.
The participant will obtain information from session participants to assist and support program management after arriving back to their home agency.
