Sr. Trainer NOBLE/HazMatIQ Boston, Massachusetts, United States
The newest of the IQ courses, IdentificationIQ combines classroom instruction with hands-on exercises, emphasizing the identification of materials in the CBRED (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Explosive, and Drug) world using a variety of technologies and detection papers. It underscores the importance of assessing the general hazards associated with the product, including flammability, corrosivity, the presence of fluorine, and radiation and more, before transitioning to identification techniques. Students receive a comprehensive overview of the technologies available, along with insights into their applications and limitations. They engage in hands-on familiarization training with identification technologies and participate in capstone tabletop exercises designed to assess their knowledge and tactics acquired throughout the day. This 8 hour session is meant to take the student beyond the buttonology and look at the system of response technologies and build confidence in knowing how, why and how to put it all together and make tactical decisions based on the information received.
Moreover, participants benefit from hands-on experience with state-of-the-art identification technologies, honing their proficiency in operating these tools under simulated conditions. By the course's conclusion, participants emerge with enhanced proficiency, equipped to navigate any CBRED incident to identify the threat safely, effectively, and confidently.
